Flag Football Plays for 5 and 6 Year Olds

At 6U most kids are learning to line up, take a handoff and run the right way. Keep the playbook to three or four plays, give every play a name the kids can shout, and pick plays where nobody has to read a defense.

• Run each play in the huddle by pointing, not by drawing. Five-year-olds follow a finger better than a whiteboard.
• Teach one handoff play and one simple pass before anything else.
